Nov. 15th&nbsp; and Sunday Nov. 16th.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span>You MUST attend ALL FIVE Session for successful completion of the course.</h3><h3 style="text-align: center;">Please Read Entire Post!</h3><p>New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun Class (PTCH) now named <strong>EPIC</strong> has been established to prepare you to carry a handgun in New Jersey. It is “Substantially Equivalent” to the course provided basic police recruits at the Police Academy that is approved by the Police Training Commission. Our course will run approximately 36 hours and require approximately 500-600 rounds of ammunition.&nbsp; It will include: Safe Gun Handling, Maintenance, Storage, Marksmanship, Drawing from a Holster, Firing under low light condition, Phase I and Phase II Malfunction Clearing, Emergency and Tactical Reloads, NJ Use of Force, position shooting and practice for the NJ Modified HQC2 and HNQC qualification courses.&nbsp; On the second weekend of the course, students will participate in the State Police Qualification HQC2 course.&nbsp; Students will be held to strict time requirements during the course of fire.&nbsp; Students will then be required to shoot the NEWLY mandate CCARE Course of fire.&nbsp; Each Student will be required to pass a written test with a minimum score of 90% and pass the CCARE qualification course with a minimum score of 80% on each.&nbsp; &nbsp;<em>This course will be held over two weekends, beginning promptly at the listed time(s). Weekend 1 will be Saturday and Sunday 830am to 4pm and weekend 2, Friday evening 6pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday 830am to 4pm.&nbsp; Attendance at all five session will be required to receive a certificate.</em></p><p><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">Our Course will be taught by NJ Police Training Commission Certified Range Masters and Instructors or Instructors with equivalent training.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">Those who successfully complete the 36 hours will receive a Certificate of completion.&nbsp; Those who pass the mandatory CCARE qualification will also receive Form S.P. 182 which is required to be submitted with the application for a permit to carry.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">We will also hold monthly qualification sessions for Members at the cost of $10.00 per session.&nbsp; The Atlantic County Use of Force Policy issued by the Prosecutor mandates permit holders qualify at least twice annually just as police.&nbsp; Although the state does not mandate qualifying twice annually, we believe that it is barely a minimum standard in maintaining proficiency.&nbsp; Shooting is a perishable skill.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">We hope you all understand that this course is a no nonsense, intense training course and is intended to prepare you for the awesome responsibility of carrying a firearm.&nbsp; Something you should not take lightly.&nbsp; We have done our best to help protect the County, our Instructors and you our clients and friends from civil and criminal liability should your training ever be scrutinized.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">You will be required to have your handgun, a hip holster designed for the specific fit of your firearm, the holster must have at least one retention device (friction will be considered a retention device), 500+ rounds of ammunition, at least 2 preferably 3 magazines or speed loaders, and a loose fitting out garment for concealment. You will aslo need a belt pouch for magazines/speed loaders, eye and ear protection and a small handheld flashlight of good quality.&nbsp; We also encourage you to bring a highlighter, a permanent marker, pen or pencil and paper, a water bottle and food necessary to get you through eight hours of intense training. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">Please also dress for the weather conditions.&nbsp; We will shoot in the rain.&nbsp; </span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1.125rem;">Deviation in the course schedule will only be made for safety reasons such as lightening.
