The Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control has scheduled a mosquito ground spray application for portions of Northfield and Pleasantville as part of the county’s ongoing efforts to control adult mosquitoes and reduce the spread of mosquito-borne illness.
The ground spray application will take place, weather permitting, between 4:00 AM and 6:30 AM on Monday, September 15, using Zenivex E4 RTU, the trade name for etofenprox, applied as an ultra-low volume aerosol.
The areas to be treated are bounded by Tilton Road, Jackson Avenue, Shore Road, Country Club Drive, Bonnie Lee Drive, Bluebell Drive, Wilson Drive, Catherine Place, Dolphin Avenue, Shore Road, E. Ridgewood Avenue, Clematis Avenue, Frambes Avenue, Narcissus Avenue, E. Bayview Avenue, W. Bayview Avenue, New Road, Dolphin Avenue, Harvey Drive, Walnut Avenue and Cresson Avenue.
The Environmental Protection Agency does not require people to relocate or take special precautions during mosquito control spraying. The public may choose to avoid or minimize exposure by staying indoors during application; keeping windows shut; window fans and air conditioning off or set to circulate indoor air; keeping children’s toys indoors; keeping pets and their food, water dishes and toys indoors.

Mosquito Control officials remind residents of the importance of removing standing water from their properties, cleaning their gutters to eliminate potential mosquito breeding grounds, repairing holes in screen windows and doors, and cutting high grass around their yards.
