Atlantic County Veterans Museum Named in Honor of Robert L. Frolow

On Friday, November 14, Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson and the Board of County Commissioners will hold a brief ceremony to officially name the Atlantic County Veterans Museum in honor of Robert L. Frolow, a lifelong county resident, decorated Vietnam veteran, and the first director of the Atlantic County Office of Veterans Services.

Frolow was born and raised in Atlantic City. He attended St. Joseph’s College before being drafted into service in 1969. He served as an Army machine gunner/scout in Vietnam where he earned three Army Commendation Medals, two Bronze Service Stars, the Cross of Gallantry with Palm, the Distinguished Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman’s Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was appointed by Levinson in 2002 to serve as the county’s first Director of Veterans Services, a position he still holds today.

The event will be held at 11 am at the museum which is located at 189 S. Route 50, Mays Landing, near the entrance to the county park at Estell Manor, the home of the Richard E< Squires Veterans Museum.

    On August 29, 2023, the Somers Point VFW hosted a town hall meeting attended by Senator Cory Booker, Dr. Shareef Elnahal (Secretary for Health at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs) and over 100 local veterans. Updates and questions on the future Linwood Outpatient Veterans Clinic were discussed in addition to other veteran topics.
