Atlantic County Offices to Remain Closed on Tuesday, February 24

Post Date:02/23/2026 5:36 PM

Atlantic County government offices will remain closed on Tuesday, February 24 following the February 22-23 winter blizzard that brought more than a foot of snow to most areas.

State, county and municipal road crews continue to salt and plow roadways for safe passage as residents dig themselves out. Heavy, wet snow is causing downed wires and tree branches that are impacting several roadways and have impeded some plowing operations. Crews must remove debris before being able to plow.

County Executive Dennis Levinson urged motorists to continue to exercise caution on roadways and to be careful when shoveling heavy snow.

“This was a storm of historic proportion, so it may take some time to return everything to normal operations,” said Levinson. “We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation. Our priority is their safety.”

County closures include the Central Municipal Court, the Animal Shelter and nutrition sites, however, county officials expect to deliver approximately 300 meals on Tuesday to homebound residents participating in the Meals on Wheels program.

“We will continue to be a safety net for our most vulnerable residents,” said Levinson. “That is why we also picked up staff during the storm to be able to care for our residents at Meadowview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated tream.”
