Notice of Pending Capital Ordinance Number 1-2026 and Summary

 The capital ordinance, the summary terms of which are included herein, was introduced and passed upon first reading at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Atlantic, State of New Jersey, on April 21, 2026.  It will be further considered for final passage, after public hearing thereon, at a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners to be held at the County Complex, Stillwater Building, 201 South Shore Road, Northfield, New Jersey on May 5, 2026 at 4:00 P.M.  During the week prior to and up to and including the date of such meeting copies of the full ordinance will be available at no cost and during regular business hours, at the Office of the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners for the members of the general public who shall request the same.  The summary of the terms of such capital ordinance follows:

Title:

Capital ordinance providing for various capital improvements, equipment and furnishings, in and for the County of Atlantic, State of New Jersey; and appropriating $4,370,400 from the capital improvement fund and/or the capital surplus fund to pay for the cost thereof

 

Purpose(s):

Capital Improvements and the acquisition and installation, as applicable, of various equipment and furnishings in and throughout the County including, but not limited to, (a) county-wide facility improvements including, but not limited to, the acquisition and installation, as applicable, of window tinting and blinds, interior and/or exterior painting and carpentry of various county facilities, duct work improvements, and environmental remediation ($1,700,500); (b) various improvements for the department of public works including, but not limited to, the acquisition and installation of various equipment including, but not limited to vehicles and other financing costs ($534,000); (c) various county-wide information technology and general network improvements and equipment including, but not limited to, the acquisition and installation, as applicable, of network switches/routers; computer hardware and software, laptops; and security software ($887,200); (d) various communication improvements for the office of emergency management including, but not limited to, ups battery replacement, an inventory tracking system and the acquisition and installation, as applicable, of Atlantic Coast Alarm and related equipment ($242,600); (e) acquisition of a sorter for the Board of Elections ($250,000); (f) acquisition of various equipment for warehouse kitchen including, but not limited to, a quart mixer and commercial range ($35,000); (g) acquisition of various equipment for the Sheriff’s Department including, but not limited to, a radio distribution system and Prophoenix cad system and improvements to employee parking lots ($473,600); (h) acquisition of various equipment for the Public Safety Department including, but not limited to, an ion scanner and storage sheds ($87,500); (i) acquisition of various equipment for the Prosecutor’s Office including, but not limited to, offsite records storage ($160,000); and also including all work, materials, equipment, labor and appurtenances necessary therefor or incidental thereto; and also including all work, materials, equipment, labor and appurtenances necessary therefor or incidental thereto.
