The Atlantic County Office of Highway Traffic Safety works with law enforcement agencies, schools, and public service organizations to develop highway traffic safety education and enforcement programs. The Office coordinates the application for state and federal grants that fund countermeasures to traffic safety issues adversely affecting our community.  Funding is also sub granted to law enforcement agencies based on motor vehicle crash data to be used for traffic enforcement and community outreach.  The Office works with non-profit agencies and large-scale events to plan safe routes for bicycle rides or races.

Traffic Safety educational and enforcement programs for citizens and law enforcement include:

  • 101 Days of Summer
  • Share the Keys Graduated Driver’s License Program
  • Defensive Driving Course
  • Child Passenger Safety Education and Car Seat Installation
